This is a new role, created to lead safety in the Fujitsu Defence portfolio, based in Canberra. We are looking for someone who has implemented and taken a business on a journey to improve and enhance the OH&S culture! This role will be responsible for supporting multiple defence sites across Australia and travel will be required.
You will be an autonomous and innovative Occupational Health and Safety Manager who aligns closely with the Defence Leadership team to develop and deploy an OH&S strategy, whilst working closely with Regional and Site Managers on a day-to-day basis.
This fast paced, rewarding, and diverse role will suit someone with a continuous improvement mindset. It is a standalone Manager role, offering true variety from developing high level strategic plans all the way to supporting site incident investigations, performing audits or creating and delivering safety initiatives.
You will be improving health and safety of Fujitsu employees and developing the safety culture. Operating across a national footprint, you will be hands on in assisting operational teams and managers to implement and assure Fujitsu standards. An inclusive and engaging individual you will identify and share best practices and incorporate these in routine operations.
Role can be based in Canberra / Melbourne / Sydney, but travel will be required.
About you
To succeed in this role you will have:
- 4+ years managing safety in high risk multisite environments (Defence experience desirable)
- OH&S Degree or equivalent, membership of professional body (desirable)
- Experience in implementing and developing an OH&S culture
- Excellent communications skills including building relationships and influencing change.
- Incident investigation experience
- Experience conducting audits / Lead auditor qualifications
- Able to work independently and to tight deadlines
- Good IT skills (including Word, Excel, Power Point, email, intranet)
- Ability to visit sites Nationally
- Security clearances required
