Operational Training Specialist

About the Role


The Operational Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering high quality program and operational training across a variety of learning methods. It will also include providing real time mentoring and coaching to operational staff to support their development.



Reporting to the Operational L & D Manager, you will also be supporting the development and continuous improvement of the Program Specific capability frameworks to support employees to increase contractual performance.



This is a full time and ongoing role. Base location is negotiable between Modbury and our Head Office in Melrose park and will also require travelling to other sites across South Australia.



You’ll also experience the work/life balance that comes with working a 9-day fortnight, with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week. You will still receive the remuneration of a full-time employee in addition to the ability to salary sacrifice.

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate experience or knowledge in:

  • Analysis of learning needs and establishing the annual learning priorities and programs to achieve the defined outcomes and support employees.
  • Designing, developing, delivering and evaluating learning solutions using instructional design techniques, across a variety of learning methods (face to face in particular).
  • Forming strong and trusted partnerships with stakeholders, to develop, plan, deliver and evaluate contemporary learning and development initiatives that boost employee capability and support professional development, as per the learning and development plan and L&D accountability requirements.
  • Management of the learning and development helpdesk function, including recording, reporting, escalation, and resolution of issues within designated time frames.
  • Developing, updating, and delivering training and support materials that engage participants and develop competence. This includes inductions for new operational staff, creating and adapting training according to Deed and guideline changes, as well as remedial training and staff refresher training as required.
  • Assisting with the management of the Learning Management System for program specific and operational courses, including, trouble shooting, allocating courses to customers and staff.
  • Providing reporting and business insights on learning management systems data.
  • Maintaining adequacy of knowledge of funding Deeds and guidelines to provide training to staff regarding contractual and procedural requirements.
You will also need to:
  • Hold a minimum of Train the Trainer Certificate or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and deliver training that is tailored to suit a diverse range of participants across all levels and programs of the business.
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver engaging training that is aligned to the 70:20:10 methodology that includes theories, practice and techniques.
  • Have strong knowledge of government programs, legal frameworks and legislation pertaining to employment services or the ability to quickly acquire that knowledge.
  • Demonstrate high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional design software packages such as Adobe Captivate, Notevibes, Screen Preso or similar.

Remuneration



A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax effective salary packaging.
