About the role
Mater Engineering and Maintenance currently has a wonderful opportunity for a Plumber to join the team in a permanent full-time basis working a 9-day fortnight.
In this role you will carry out repairs and maintenance tasks to Mater Health Services facilities as directed in order to maintain the Mater facilities in a safe and well-presented condition.
Salary range: $39.90 - $46.00 per hour plus 11.5% super and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing
Key duties will include:
- Ensure effective communication with Trade Group Manager on a regular basis throughout the day on issues regarding daily work plan and work activities.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a manner providing the safety of patients, visitors and staff whilst ensuring all access and services are maintained where practical.
- Provide quality technical skills and knowledge to ensure all work is completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Interact and coordinate effectively with workshop team members and other trade disciplines to ensure positive job outcomes on multi trade tasks.
- Record accurate data on provided i Pads including job sheets and timesheets and sign as required on a daily basis.
- Provide 24hour maintenance service by participating in on-call roster will be required
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
- Certificate III in Plumbing and Drainage or higher
- Current full Occupational Plumbing and Drainage Licence
- An understanding of Occupational, Health, Safety and Welfare Legislation and Regulations pertaining to Plumbing.
- Demonstrated experience in building hydraulics maintenance
- Current Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) and Backflow Prevention endorsements
- A good understanding of servicing, testing and replacement of TMVs and backflow prevention devices
- Demonstrated experience in the use of electric eels and various drain clearing equipment including CCTV pipe inspection cameras
- Current “C” Class Driver’s licence
- Well-developed time management and organisation skills
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in a team environment
- Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously
