About Us:

The Presbytery of Southern SA one of two geographical presbyteries. Po SSA covers the area of South Australia, south of an east west line running from Henley Beach Road, via Currie and Grenfell Streets to the Victorian Border. It does not include the Yorke Peninsula.
Position Overview:

The Presbytery Minister has a leadership role in the pastoral oversight of congregations and ministry leadership within the Presbytery, and in motivating the UCA in mission. The focus will be the strengthening of the life of congregations and faith communities and will include exploring new initiatives in mission, developing spiritual vitality and encouraging the skills and well-being of leaders, with a focus on congregations who are not in the Presbytery pool and do not have ordained leadership.
The Presbytery Minister will work with the committees of the Presbytery. They will support the effective interface between the Pastoral Relations Committee, the Standing Committee and the congregations and faith communities
Key Responsibilities:

• working cooperatively with the Standing Committee (SC) and Pastoral Relations Committee (PRC) as it takes a strategic approach to our current congregation and property vitality matters
• working with the PRC and the Chairperson of Presbytery to maintain the Presbytery’s pastoral care and oversight role to congregations and faith communities;
• seeking to be first point of contact for congregations and faith communities who do not have a placement and are not in the Presbytery pool.
• focusing on congregations who are having difficulty or have a thin relationship with
  the Presbytery.
• resourcing the Standing Committee members so they are able to provide leadership through encouraging congregations to identify new opportunities and develop new initiatives in church revitalisation, community development, formation for
  discipleship and the development of leadership;
• fully cooperating and supporting the Presbytery Pool and all projects of the Presbytery
• identifying resources for congregations to enrich their corporate life, worship, education and governance;
• be open and flexible to undertake other roles in the life of the Presbytery when requested by the Chairperson;

Qualifications:

• A tertiary qualification in theology, the practice of ministry or a related field is highly desirable.
