As a Principal Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for working closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience. For this specific role you will be responsible to delivery a specific scope area within a larger project.

What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join our Perth team.
The role responsibilities include:
- Delivering discipline specific engineering services that meet Worley, its clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. Must have broad experience and competency to successfully manage all aspects of Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.
- Undertake engineering design and technical verification (as required) of discipline project deliverables by others including ensuring adherence to project design criteria. Initiate, manage and supervise engineering resources on projects to meet project requirements on time and within budget.

Manage discipline specific engineering activities such as:
- Ensure the project scopes are clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Prepare project documentation such as datasheets, scopes of work, work instructions, input to design drawings.
- Prepare and oversee the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports.
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required quality procedures (eg Checking of technical deliverables).
- Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities. For example, write requisitions and conduct technical bid evaluations.
- Estimate engineering hours for scopes or projects and track hours to approved budget.
- Design for appropriate levels of risk and be conscious of HSE input to all elements of the design including promotion of Safety in Design within the area of responsibility.
- Provide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and project teams; participate in peer reviews; and consult with relevant resources as required.
- Actively contribute to the development and improvement of Worley design systems, processes, practices and procedures.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with the project stakeholders/team including the Workshare team, 3rd party interfaces, Construction and Project Managers on design progress, budget, technical matters, workshare and/or resource planning.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships within Worley, with its clients and other stakeholders.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its client’s requirements. Develop appropriate and innovative solutions.
- A recognised engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
- Substantial technical and practical Brownfields experience in the relevant discipline in the same or similar industry, including experience in multi-disciplinary projects and leading teams.
- Hydrocarbons/LNG industry experience (highly desired).
- Extensive experience in managing diverse teams across multiple locations to deliver project outcomes (highly desired) including a keen interest in managing and coaching individuals to develop a high performing team.
- Strong experience in client, inter-discipline and construction interface management.
- Strong experience in scope delivery and change management.
