What You Can Expect in this Role:
The Principal Test and Release Officer is responsible for the delivery of ICTS related resources and services that ensure OIR can deliver ICT services and products to meet customers' needs.
As part of the ICTS RAPID delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring that solutions created by the team are sufficiently defect free and ready for deployment to production. Additionally, you will be responsible for the process to deploy developed solutions for production use.

The Principal Test and Release Officer is responsible for the delivery of ICTS related resources and services that ensure OIR can deliver ICT services and products to meet customers' needs.
As part of the ICTS RAPID delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring that solutions created by the team are sufficiently defect free and ready for deployment to production. Additionally, you will be responsible for the process to deploy developed solutions for production use.
Key Responsibilities -
- Develop and implement comprehensive test and release strategies, ensuring alignment with business, and technical expectations, and timelines.
- Coordinate and manage all testing activities, including functional, non-functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Plan, schedule, and manage software releases across development, test, and production environments, including deployment plans and rollback procedures.
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of testing and release processes and resolve any issues.
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools, promoting continuous improvement in testing and release processes through the adoption of best practices and new technologies.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of tester(s), fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement while providing training and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Mandatory Qualifications or Conditions:
- Nil mandatory conditions. Qualifications in Test and Release Management or equivalent are considered highly desirable. Key capabilities for this role also reflect the Skills framework for the information age (SFIA) framework.
- Develops organisational capability for technical testing and acceptance (automation skills highly desirable).
- Co-ordinates resources to ensure the availability of effective testing facilities.
- Leads the assessment, analysis, planning, and design of release packages, including risk assessment.
- Implements processes for release management and ensures the successful deployment of new or changed services.
- Develops test strategies, test plans, and test cases where needed, including the execution of testing, collection and reporting of test results
- Operates within an agile Scrum team to ensure that the elaboration of user stories includes testable definitions for Definition of Done (Do D) that form the basis of test cases.
- Monitors and reports on compliance with agreed quality standards, identifying and managing risk.
- Evaluates the impact of changes and ensures the smooth transition of systems through effective change control strategies/approaches.
- Identifies and engages with stakeholders to ensure their involvement in the test and release processes are effective.
