The Mine Geology team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine are seeking to employ a Project UG Geologist to join their on-site team on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth. This permanent role is accountable to the Senior Geologist: Mine Geology
This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 roster, we operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.
Accountabilities:
- Lead a team at a large scale UG (Underground) operation, currently producing 2.7mtpa with plans to get to 3.1mtpa in the future, your role will pay an integral part in achieving this.
- Get experience with UG RC (reverse circulation) grade control drilling, Sunrise Dam has 4 x GC rigs, and you will be responsible for both the short and long-term plan to meet the goal of 18 months of GC stock.
- You will be working within a large, talented, and diverse Geology team, that consists onsite of 20 Exploration Geologists, 15 Mine Geologists, 30 Geology Technicians and 160 drilling contractors. In addition, the role is supported by an in-house Resource Evaluation team and Technical Specialist group.

- Commit to living the AGA Values, particularly prioritizing safety, by promoting safety interactions across mine work groups.
- Ensure long-term and short-term Grade Control (GC) schedules are current and aligned with the mining schedule, with a goal of maintaining 18 months of drill stocks.
- Collaborate with the Technical Services team to ensure GC drilling is aligned with the reserve conversion and meets mine production target.
- Identify drilling targets to extend the Life of Mine (LOM) and increase reserves and resources.
- Work with the modeling and resource estimation team to improve geological data for GC and resource estimations.
- Plan, monitor and implement Mine Geology business improvement projects.
- Review & sign off Level Development Plans & Stope notes.
- Monitor, review & report QAQC performance of grade control samples.
- Contribute to the End of Month (EOM) reconciliation and reporting process.
- Support the Grade Control team in GC modeling & estimation.
- Train and mentor Graduates and Mine Geologists.
- Able to multi-task while, effectively managing time to meet deadlines and deliver expected outcomes.
- Perform tasks in compliance with relevant safety guidelines, procedures, and duty of care obligations as required by legislation.
About You

- BSc in Geology or higher-level qualifications.
- Previous underground mine geology experience.
- A high degree of organisational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Excellent communication & people skills.
- Strong grasp of mining geology including gold sampling and assaying, geological interpretation, grade modelling.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, Vulcan, Leapfrog & Datashed desirable.
- Proficiency in Deswik is advantageous.
- Enjoys coaching and mentoring junior staff in geological thinking, interpretation and 3D modelling.
- Very strong written, verbal and presentation skills would be highly regarded.
- Permanent work rights in Australia.
- Current C class Manual Drivers Licence.
- A National Police Clearance.
