We are a vibrant and diverse inner-city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programs and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. What does that mean? Think, childcare, libraries, parks, recreation, waste rubbish collection, road maintenance, family and youth services, property & assets, city planning & development, customer experience, digital technology, governance, people, culture and safety, and of course South Melbourne Market! Ideally this role would suit a pro-active and strategic thinker / solutions focused / growth mindset with a background of delivering open space projects.

What you might do
- Proactive project management
- Effective engagement
- Contribute to team culture
- Provide technical expertise
- A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Landscape Architecture, Open Space or equivalent with substantial experience in the management of construction projects.
- Extensive experience in managing whole of life public open space projects including construction management.
- Experience in delivering high-quality project management and integrated outcomes.
- Community consultation and stakeholder management experience
- Experience in managing open space and recreation capital works projects in a local government context is desirable.
