The purpose of this role is to be responsible for overseeing the quality control processes and ensuring that all products meet the required standards and specifications. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of quality control procedures within a processing plant environment.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager you will be accountable for:

Quality Control

• Supervise a team of quality control inspectors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all quality control activities
• Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular inspections of production processes, equipment, and products to identify and address any potential quality issues.
• Collaborate with production managers and other departments to identify areas for process improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance overall product quality.
• Block and release stock based on product assessment outcome.
• Assess product attributes based on standard and determine disposition of product.

Accreditation & Compliance

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.

Testing & Sampling

• Monitor and analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and report findings to the management team
• Responsible for maintaining special sampling requirements for company and customers and when required analyze/submit samples

This role is suitable for someone with minimum one (1) years’ experience in a QA / Quality department or Food Production environment. You must have in-depth knowledge of quality control procedures, standards, and regulations within the processing industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve quality-related issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Qualification in Food safety & Quality System or relevant industry knowledge are desirable
