Overview
Working as the Direct Care Worker - Residential, you will assist in the care of residents of the Residential Care Home in Ceduna.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide assistance with bathing, showering, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming of residents, along with toileting and continence management
• Help with feeding residents and maintain their mobility/dexterity through transferring and lifting, including the use of mechanical aides
• Undertake bed making, cleaning of equipment, aids, utensils in work area (including personal possessions)
• Distribute clean laundry and personal attire
• Providing input into resident assessment
• Assist with the self-administration of medication on medical authority to client
• Transportation of clients

About You

• You will have effective interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances;
• Have the ability to work well within a team environment, providing assistance and co-operating with other staff;
• good time management skills and ability to use discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
• You will have experience in exercising own judgement and initiative in the day-to-day execution of a position
• Experience in the use of computer packages

Ceduna District Health Services
The Ceduna District Health Services is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network and includes Ceduna Hospital. Ceduna Hospital has 15 inpatient beds and provides services including emergency, surgical, general medicine, birthing, renal dialysis, diagnostic radiology and outpatients. There are also residential aged care services provided within the hospital, at the Kuhlmann Wing and Ceduna Senior Citizens Village. There is also a GP family practice, Community Health services, Allied Health services, and Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health services offered on the hospital site.
