School Crossing Supervisor

St Kilda East

This is an ongoing, full time role commencing Term 4, 2024, hours are 8 – 4pm.
The successful applicant will:

Supervise students, staff, school community members and vehicles at the school crossing
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and without supervision
Reinforce the Stop, Look, Listen and Think road safety message to students using the crossing
Ensure that the flags are displayed correctly whilst covering the crossing
Ensures the stop sign enters the road on a diagonal angle ahead of themselves before entering the crossing and displaying the sign clearly for any road users by way of holding it vertically in the centre of the road.
Maintains a high level of awareness, professional behaviour and conduct
Uses a confident yet calm approach if required to intervene with non-compliance with road rules including with students, road users or members of the community.
Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
National Police History Check (obtained within the last 6 months)
