School of Science Computing and Engineering Technology

In addition to the above departments, the School offers sessional tutor opportunities within our student support centres:

  • The Mathematics and Statistics Help (MASH) Centre – MASH provides support for units with mathematical content and provides a one-to-one drop-in service for students who want help in a non-judgemental and supportive atmosphere independent of their departments. It sees students from departments whose units contain or require first year university mathematics (usually Calculus and Linear Algebra), although there are also students with questions that are both more or less advanced than these topics, including physics related questions.

  • The Networking Help Desk
    - The Help Desk provides support for students undertaking introductory networking Units in units covering Cisco and Microsoft curriculum. Support is offered on a one-to-one basis and independent of the corresponding Unit Staff.
