ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight basis, at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. We are seeking someone who is local to the South-West area or is willing to relocate. This position will offer relocation assistance to the right candidate.

As the Senior Cost Controller, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, refinement and maintenance of Cost Control Procedures and Processes. As well as management of cost control, physical progress measurement, change management and reporting in accordance with the Project Controls Plan and Project Control procedures. This role will report to the Capital Execution Superintendent and will support the project execution team in achieving safe and cost-effective project objectives.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Implementation of Cost Control processes
• Preparation and timely delivery of the Project Reports
• Interfacing with key stakeholders across the planning and project teams to ensure accurate cost control and reporting is executed
• Educate and coach internal stakeholders and team members
• Interfacing with external contractors and assist department in contract development and negotiations

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• 10+ years of Cost Controls experience in project development and execution in mining or heavy industry
• Experience in the safe and successful development and delivery of large brownfield projects >$100M as a project team member
• Detailed understanding of project execution practices associated with capital projects:
• Significant Experience in Feasibility stage project controls dealing with engineering design deliverables
• Proficient to expert user in Microsoft office, SAP (preferred), Prism products or ability to learn
• Effective communication skills and previous leadership experience is desirable

Qualifications for this position are:

• Relevant qualifications in Finance, Engineering or Project Management
