Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to provide high quality, accurate and timely financial services to the I-MED's NSW/ACT/WA business unit and I-MED overall in order to ensure compliance, enhance decision making, achieve business goals and targets, and promote the delivery of excellence in diagnostic imaging and healthcare services to patients, referrers, customers and the community. The role will support I-MED's finance function with ongoing and month-end finance processes, including preparing accurate reporting and analysis to both external parties and internal teams, ensuring accurate and timely information is available when required to meet stakeholder needs, while continuing to look for process improvements and supporting a strong control environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of Business Unit Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet- Ensure accurate and compliant month-end financial reporting, including P&L and Balance Sheet entries, variance explanations, and balance sheet reconciliations
Participation in Business Unit Planning, Budgeting & Review Processes- Collaborate on the NSW/ACT/WA strategy and business plan, prepare the budget with the Commercial Manager, and gather information from key stakeholders to build a comprehensive budget.
Preparation of Business Unit Financial Reports and Analysis- Analyse the general ledger, prepare and present financial summaries and month-end reports, and discuss results with NSW/ACT/WA leaders, providing variance explanations.
Support for the Business Unit Operational team in BU Strategic Growth Projects- Support the Commercial Finance Manager and BU in continuous improvement initiatives, system projects, and ad hoc tasks as needed
Relationships Management- Foster strong working relationships and effective communication within the NSW/ACT/WA management team and other departments, ensuring alignment with I-MED's core values.
Professional Development & Growth- Engage in professional development, support and train staff, manage personal performance, and participate in company training and development programs.

The ideal candidate:
We are seeking a candidate with a tertiary degree in accounting or commerce, who is part qualified and has over three years of experience in an accounting role. The ideal candidate will also have more than three years of experience using finance and accounting systems, along with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
