Pan Aust Limited (“Pan Aust”) is an Australian-headquartered copper and gold producer in Laos, with pre-development and exploration assets in Laos, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Chile. This is an opportunity to join Pan Aust during an exciting period of revitalising its development opportunity pipeline as well as analysing external growth options.

Our Assets

In Laos, Pan Aust’s subsidiary, Phu Bia Mining Limited, operates the Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operations. Both are world-class, award-winning operations with strong operational, safety and sustainability credentials.

In PNG, Pan Aust owns the Frieda River Copper-Gold Project, one of the largest known undeveloped copper and gold deposits in the world. The project will help to supply the copper required to facilitate the renewable energy transition. Frieda River is a sustainable, nation-building project which includes the development of a hydropower facility and public infrastructure that will advance one of the least developed regions in PNG.

In Chile, Pan Aust owns 100% of the Carmen copper gold project and 66% of the Inca de Oro copper gold project. Both are promising pre-development assets, which are being progressed by Pan Aust.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Manager Valuations, the Senior Financial Analyst is to lead financial modelling and valuation tasks to facilitate value-based investment decisions and provide market insights to support strategic direction and market analysis.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Leads the financial modelling, valuation and analysis for investments through collaboration within key parts of the Pan Aust Group (Technical Services, Finance, Operations,etc). These investments include mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and other capital projects.
Conducts valuation activities, applies methodologies consistently and provides insight into the financial robustness of the investment alternatives to optimise the Company’s portfolio value.
Coordinates, updates and manages all financial models across the Group, this includes models for life of mine, development projects, investments/divestments and capital projects.
Provides comprehensive data-driven analysis and outputs to assist with making strategic and financial decisions for the company.
Leads the economic analysis and modelling for development projects progressing through the development phases of concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility, development and operations.
Works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial objectives and assumptions.

To be successful in this role, you will require:
Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in finance, engineering, economics, or related discipline.
Minimum of 3+ years’ experience with economic and financial modelling and investment portfolio management.
Experience in investment banking is highly desirable.
Experienced with mergers, acquisitions, divestments and funding processes and structures.
Experience in the development of the inputs and economic evaluation of projects.
Proficient user of MS Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
