We are now seeking passionate individuals who are able to further develop and deliver into our Social Work and Human Services offerings to provide practical insights and knowledge for our students.


What you’ll do:


As Senior Lecturer (Director Field Education and Networking), you will utilise your specialist knowledge and skills to contribute to and lead academic activities within the Social Work and Human Services Field Education Unit. As a result, you will play a significant role within the Discipline.


In this Education Specialist position, you will lead the Social Work and Human Services Field Education Unit and contribute to the Discipline by:

  • Providing coordination of and oversight over field education for Social Work and Human Services programs, by networking within industry to establish and sustain high-quality placements for Social Work and Human Services students,
  • Integrating industry-currency (knowledge, practice, and partnerships) into field education leadership, teaching and research efforts,
  • Demonstrating expertise and initiative in design and delivery of online and on-campus Social Work and Human Services courses, including placement courses, and
  • Working collaboratively with other Social Work and Human Services academics to ensure our courses adopt a pervasive practice orientation, enabling our students to be placement- and practice-ready.

What will help you succeed:


You will hold membership of or be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).


You will possess a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in the field of Social Work and Human Services. Additionally, you will have

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering engaged and reflective approaches to teaching that produce the best possible outcomes for students;
  • An ability to capitalise on industry and community connections to facilitate field placement opportunities for our student cohort; and
  • High-level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, relating well to people at all levels using diplomacy, tact and sound judgement, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships.

Salary: Total Remuneration range of $156,562 to $179,946 pa (includes salary range of $132,287 to $152,045 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17%, and annual leave loading)
