Senior Manager - Medical, Diagnostics & Public

How will I help?
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead team responsible for negotiating and managing contracts for Private Hospitals (including ensuring regular informal and formal engagement structures to manage relationships with contracted providers)
- Coaching, development and uplift of E&CM team members (including regular feedback to support growth and development)
- Champion and drive engagement and culture uplift initiatives to support a high-performance team culture.
- Collaborate with the Health Transformation to implement strategic component of the Hospital Engagement framework
- Collaborate with the Network Performance and Optimisation Team to develop metrics and tracking that reports on the health of Private Hospitals and the overall network in which they sit
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies with customer outcomes at the heart of the negotiations for their allocated portfolio of healthcare providers
- Ensuring the appropriate management of all relationships and associated benefit outlay for healthcare providers within the allocated portfolio
- Work with the Head of Commercial to maintain appropriate governance structures (including contract runway), manage renewal periods to spread the renewal workload over a 3 year plan
- Work with providers to lead to better outcomes for the customer, the provider and Bupa

What do I need?
- Significant experience (10+ years) in leadership roles with demonstrated ability to drive culture change, skills uplifts and employee engagement in complex, high-pressure environments.
- Track record of developing and leading high performing teams, able to develop strong team cohesion and a commitment to coaching and development of teams to ensure they deliver extraordinary result
- Significant experience (10+ years) in a healthcare environment and negotiation of complex and high value contracts with large enterprise organisations and ongoing contract management disciplines
- Working knowledge of Casemix Funding Systems
- Deep Understanding of the private and public health care systems and industries and the related regulatory environments.
- Proven ability in partnership & alliance negotiation and understanding of negotiation strategies and scenario planning
- A track record of achievement and delivery in relevant commercial field with previous experience in public health environments advantageous
- Excellent stakeholder management (internal/external) and ability to build strong business relationships at a senior level and able to identify business development opportunities for Bupa with Hospital groups
- Deep understanding of business planning and managing outcomes against both target and forecast and experience of working with actuarial teams would be an advantage.
- Tertiary qualifications are desirable and skills or training in business management, health service or related disciplines.
- Proven capacity to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences – including gathering requirements and presenting results.
- Exceptional written and presentation skills and the ability to convert data into insight and prepare compelling, persuasive reports and presentations suitable for executive and board level content
