About the Role:
The Senior Policy and Project Officer is responsible for leading and coordinating the resolution of complex and historical Crown land transactions. The role involves managing intricate land tenure issues, collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with through relevant legislation, policies and procedures. The role is also key in supporting Crown Lands initiatives, providing high- level advice and contributing to the strategic direction of public land management.

Contract for up to 12 months
Essential Qualifications:
-
Tertiary qualifications in land management, environmental science, law, or related fields, or equivalent experience
is highly desirable. - Contemporary knowledge of land management principles and practices is desirable.
- Demonstrates an understanding of relevant legislation, including the Crown Lands Management Act 2009 and related environmental, planning, and Native Title legislation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders and resolve disputes.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in managing legal and procedural requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work alone and be self-reliant.
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- Intrastate (regional) and interstate travel may be required.
- Some out of hours work is required, necessitating occasional overnight stays.
- A current Class C drivers licence, and willingness to drive.
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain a National Police Clearance (NPC).
ASO7 $108,109 min - $116,864 max p.a.
