Senior Policy Officer

About this role
We are looking for a high performing Senior Policy Officer to join the Enterprise Team, Office for Health and Medical Research.
The Enterprise Team manages programs and policies that support the NSW health and medical technology sector to develop and commercialise research to create healthier communities and deliver better patient care.
The Senior Policy Officer is responsible for process and strategy supporting the NSW Medical Devices Fund, a medical technology commercialisation grant program. This is a great opportunity to use and further develop your experience in negotiation and project management, and to build and manage collaborative stakeholder relationships with the health and medical research sector.
Crown Clerk Grade 9/10, salary from $120,859 pa - $133,183 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Policy Officer will work with the team’s Principal Policy Officer to:
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders on program measurement, management and strategy
- Review and update grant metric and repayment tracking
- Develop and manage funding agreement negotiations and variations with grant recipients
- Recruit and onboard members of the grant assessment panel
- Plan for a program impact evaluation
- Establish a strategy and processes for targeting repaid funds.
The Senior Policy Officer may also have opportunities to support complementary discrete projects across the Office for Health and Medical Research.
About you
We are looking for a motivated and committed individual who:
- Communicates complex issues clearly and effectively in writing and verbally
- Is confident in managing complex and sensitive consultation and collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Has experience in project planning and monitoring, including managing competing priorities
- Enjoys working with others to deliver better outcomes in a small dynamic team environment
- Thinks strategically and can identify ways to improve the status quo
- Has experience with contract management and funding agreements
- Has experience with data management, data handling and data quality
- Is interested in how the health and medical research and translation system works and how to make it better.
