PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Contribute to the development and implementation of medium to long term solutions that deliver improved and cost-effective societal and

environmental outcomes through the provision of appropriate water and wastewater treatment technology and safe drinking water across both

urban and remote communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The “WHAT” to be delivered

Functional

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of long-term master plans for water and wastewater systems.
  • Undertake investigations and research to identify and implement solutions for the medium to long term management of water and wastewater
quality issues in consultation with Corporation personnel, regulators and relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensure planning, design and investment decisions relevant to water and wastewater systems deliver improved operational performance and
optimum outcomes.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the Drinking Water Quality Management System, Water Safety Plans and
associated Water Quality Improvement Plan, the Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Program and Environmental Management Plans.

  • Provide technical support to other areas of Water Services including input into delivery of capital and operational projects.
  • Compile and analyse data, prepare and present planning, technical and management reports and submissions to key internal and external
stakeholders.

  • Contribute to timely and accurate investigations as part of an ICAM team
  • Seek to reduce the environmental impact of the organisation through compliance with legislative, regulatory and licence requirements.
Project Management

  • Effectively undertake investigations, develop concept and detailed designs, specifications and justifications for capital and operational Business
Cases in accordance with the strategic needs of Water Services, noting that delivery of capital projects will generally be by others.

  • Prepare and monitor scopes, budgets, cash flows and resource requirements as necessary to successfully deliver allocated projects.
Quality

  • Support a continuous improvement culture, developing and reviewing processes and procedures to ensure they are current and relevant to
legislative, regulatory and other work requirements.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualification and Skills Experience

Essential • Mandatory minimum 3 or 4 year Science or • Significant knowledge of the relevant water and
