Speech Pathologist (Level 1/2) - Rotational - Coffs Harbour Health Campus

What you'll be doing

Practising and promoting safe, efficient and effective Inpatient, Outpatient/Community care that reflects current standards of Speech Pathology practices and current Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures

Hospital-based Speech pathologists provide inpatient and outpatient services to adults (18+ years) as well as babies or children with feeding difficulties while they are in hospital.

Adult patients are seen for assessment, treatment, and/or management for a range of swallowing and communication disorders.

The hospital is a level five teaching hospital for medicine, nursing, and allied health and also acts as a hub for health research in the region. We are proud to be teaching the clinicians of tomorrow.

A 357-bed service, CHHC treats nearly 45,000 emergency presentations each year, including patients with a range of serious and life-threatening conditions such as burns and serious trauma.
Coffs Harbour Health Campus is the major referral centre for residents of Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Valley local government areas.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s. These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.
A TALENT POOL MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE ROLES AND WILL REMAIN VALID FOR 18 MONTHS.

Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

Demonstrated ability to select and apply current theory and clinical practice in the assessment and management of adult communication and swallowing disorders.

Demonstrated ability and commitment to working in multidisciplinary and speech pathology teams

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage an inpatient and outpatient caseload.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Current unencumbered Driver's Licence
