Strategic Academic Advisor

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the tertiary education sector? As the Strategic Academic Advisor, reporting to the Director, Academic Portfolio Operations, you'll be at the forefront of driving key strategic projects and initiatives for Schools.
This critical role involves in-depth research and analysis of sector trends and issues, providing expert advice and actionable recommendations to help shape academic strategies. Collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you'll play a key role in developing business cases, impact statements, and guiding projects that affect both national and international education landscapes.
You'll also take charge of preparing high-quality communications, reports, and presentations while representing the Schools on various university committees and cross-functional projects. Bring your understanding of the evolving education sector to a role where you can influence meaningful change.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Extensive experience in a high-level administrative role, which required high level creative, planning and management functions.
  • Excellent understanding of issues affecting the Tertiary education sector nationally and internationally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, liaise and work with people at all levels, both internal and external to the University with tact, maturity, and appreciation of sensitive issues.
  • Well-developed analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies, strategies, and procedures within a complex and often sensitive environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to research, prepare reports, policy documents presentations and take accurate minutes.

Qualifications

Completion of a postgraduate degree or progress towards one and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
