About the Role

The Student Academic Misconduct Officer provides essential administrative and executive support to the newly established Student Academic Misconduct team, aiding in the investigation and management of serious student academic misconduct cases. Responsibilities include coordinating case-related tasks, supporting hearings, liaising with stakeholders, and maintaining case management systems. The role requires strong organisational skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive information with empathy, discretion, and sound judgment.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Liaise with stakeholders to schedule student academic misconduct panel hearings, ensuring the accurate and timely provision of relevant documentation.
  • Supporting the broader team of Student and Scholarly Services Investigators by undertaking research, gathering information and reports and entering data as directed into case briefings.
  • Maintain precise records and update databases to ensure compliance with policy and to facilitate a seamless workflow and efficient case management.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of panel hearings through the provision of Secretariat support, including preparing agendas, taking minutes and updating databases as required.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate is organised, detail-oriented, and skilled in stakeholder management, with strong time management and communication abilities. They demonstrate discretion, cultural competence, and professionalism, excelling in handling sensitive information and managing competing demands with initiative and autonomy.

You will also have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through a combination of education, training and experience. Demonstrated experience in the administration of disciplinary matters would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Proven ability to display a high level of discretion and confidentiality, judgement and professionalism in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, as well as when dealing with confidential and sensitive documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to synthesise information and prepare briefs and reports with a high level of attention to detail.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
