Clinical Trial Co-Ordinator

Salary: Academic Level A – $83,468 - $113,262 p.a. plus 17% super (pro rata for part time)
- Coordinate a multi-site randomised controlled trial investigating the effectiveness of personalised brain stimulation (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) in adults with Treatment Resistant Depression, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring protocol compliance, and managing the study database.
- Be at the forefront of clinical research, offering novel treatment options to people in need by coordinating a cutting-edge, NHMRC-funded trial exploring personalised brain stimulation for treatment-resistant depression, working collaboratively with leading researchers and clinicians across multiple sites.

As the Clinical Trial Co-ordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of this NHMRC-funded study, ensuring compliance with protocols, managing the study database, and coordinating with research teams across sites in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
You will work closely with the Principal Investigator and collaborators, liaising with participants and stakeholders, preparing ethics applications, monitoring finances, chairing meetings, and contributing to data collection, publications, and grant applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Co-ordination of a multi-site randomised controlled trial, including liaising with teams at each site, overseeing operations, ensuring protocol compliance, and managing the study database.
- Contribute to data collection, including administering questionnaires and assisting participants with brain scan appointments. Data collection will also involve specialised programmes for qualitative/quantitative data collection such as REDCap and SPSS.
- Create ethics applications and reports for ethics committees, contribute to publications and presentations, and potentially supervise research support staff.
You will possess strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet project deadlines, and multitask with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, enabling you to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams.
Your demonstrated experience in coordinating clinical trials and preparing ethics/governance applications will be invaluable in this role.
You will also have:
- An Honours or postgraduate degree in behavioural or social sciences or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, management, and maintenance of study databases using REDCap.
- Sound working knowledge of the National Statement for Ethical Conduct in Human Research, Good Clinical Practice and other local and national regulatory requirements for clinical research.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
