Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Training Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Working an 8/6 roster and reporting directly to the Training Superintendent, this busy and diverse role will see you support the site’s training system and standards to achieve industry best practices while ensuring compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations, the site’s training scheme, coal competency standards, and internal policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include developing training needs analyses (TNA) for organisations contracted to Hail Creek for maintenance activities, both day-to-day and during shutdowns or service days. You will also support training and assessment activities for high-risk work across the site, ensuring adherence to training systems and processes by trainers, assessors, and external providers.

As part of your duties, you will conduct ad hoc on-the-job challenge testing and oversee training assessment activities and contractor training system audits as required. It will be crucial to ensure that effective, consistent, and relevant training programs are delivered to contractors in a timely and professional manner. You will coordinate training resources, including internal and external trainers, training facilities, and necessary equipment for shutdown and service day mobilisation, while also controlling costs in line with the Health, Safety & Training department budget.

Effective communication is essential in this role. You will liaise with external agencies such as the Resources Training Council, government bodies, and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). Additionally, you will maintain general communications, including schedules and reports, while managing the scheduled training calendar.

To be successful in this role, you will possess extensive experience in a similar training role within a mining environment coupled with formal qualifications in training, education or a related discipline. Your superior interpersonal, influencing and facilitation skills to successfully interface with various levels of management is paramount. Whilst acting decisively, and with integrity, you will be a highly organised professional who is approachable, passionate, innovative, and driven to succeed within a dynamic environment.
