ABOUT THE ROLE
We have created a new role within our Events & Operations Department. We’re looking for someone to be responsible for all umpire appointments to Cricket Australia Domestic Competitions throughout the summer. You will work in conjunction with members of the Umpire Selection Panel to ensure that Cricket Australia continues to identify and produce world class umpires. We have big ambitions for this space, so we’re looking for drive, passion, and energy to bring our plans to life.

Reporting to the Match Officials Manager, you’ll be responsible for:
- Employing sound processes and practices to ensure the Umpire Selection Panel delivers the fair and meritorious selection and appointment of umpires to CA umpire panels and Cricket Australia competitions;
- Appointment of Umpires to Cricket Australia competition matches, working closely with the Umpire Selection Panel and umpiring stakeholders to ensure understanding of the appointment strategy and rationale;
- Reviewing umpire performances to enable considered and informed decisions when selecting umpires of panels and competitions, including the preparation of reports, mid and post season feedback and other administrative requirements.
- A comprehensive and demonstratable knowledge of the Australian Cricket Umpiring Pathway
- Recent or contemporary involvement with Australian Cricket or other major sport in an umpiring, coaching or playing capacity
- Exception communication skills, with a proven ability to develop trust with and the respect of umpires, players and team officials
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict, exercise sound judgement and promoting acceptance of decisions across diverse key stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in making considered and clear decisions, which may involve difficult choices, and taking action with confidence under self-direction
