We have a permanent position available at our Ulverstone premises for a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Manager who is ready to take on a challenging role in a dynamic environment.
About The Role:
Reporting to senior management, you will be a crucial part of the leadership team, responsible for managing a busy workshop to ensure all projects, both onsite and offsite, are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About The Role:
Reporting to senior management, you will be a crucial part of the leadership team, responsible for managing a busy workshop to ensure all projects, both onsite and offsite, are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership to drive productivity and performance in the workshop, ensuring all workshop staff meet their responsibilities and are held accountable.
- Oversee day-to-day management of the workshop, including people management, work allocation, scheduling, timesheet approval, material tracking, and job tracking.
- Oversee service work in the Tasmanian workshop and on site around Australia and New Zealand with the Workshop & Service Coordinator.
- Ensure all projects are delivered efficiently and safely, maintaining adherence to quality standards.
- Manage and develop client relationships, promptly addressing queries and working to grow existing partnerships.
- Continuously review and implement improvements in workshop practices and procedures.
- Ensure the safe operation of the workshop, adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Guide, mentor, and motivate the workshop team, fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with quoting and estimating for servicing, repairs, and workshop jobs.
- Manage final documentation and reporting related to workshop processes.
We seek a dynamic individual with proven experience managing a fabrication, manufacturing, or engineering workshop. Strong management and leadership skills are essential, particularly in driving a team, and fostering a high-performance culture.

- Demonstrated experience in workshop management, with a track record of delivering results under pressure.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage staff, set expectations, and drive performance.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities and unexpected challenges in a dynamic workshop environment.
- A passion for continuous improvement and implementing efficiencies.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in planning, scheduling, and job tracking software primarily using MYOB Advanced, Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Experience in the agricultural sector and/or manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Current manual motor vehicle and forklift licences are required.
