JOB SUMMARY
Are you a data science leader passionate about empowering teams to turn insights into impact? Storyblok is looking for an experienced Data Team Manager to lead our data science and engineering efforts, playing a pivotal role in shaping data strategy across our organization. As a seasoned professional, you will foster collaboration, spearhead critical research, and enhance decision-making across all departments.In this role, you will manage and mentor a team of four, working closely with product, finance, and go-to-market teams to prioritize and streamline data initiatives. You will oversee the data team pipeline, set clear goals, and ensure data insights are communicated effectively, making them accessible and actionable to drive our strategic objectives forward.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Define and implement the data and analytics strategy, aligning it with company objectives to support business growth and operational efficiency
- Partner closely with product, finance, marketing, and go-to-market (GTM) teams to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights that inform decision-making
- Act as a key point of contact for data-related inquiries across the organization, translating complex data insights into clear, impactful recommendations
- Prioritize and manage the team’s workload, ensuring high-impact projects are identified, resourced, and delivered on time to meet strategic goals
- Lead the development and deployment of business intelligence tools, dashboards, and reporting systems to deliver real-time insights for stakeholders
- Clearly communicate data insights, project updates, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and understanding across the organization
- Present complex analytical concepts in accessible language, supporting data-driven culture and literacy within the company
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of our data infrastructure, ensuring data integrity, availability, and accessibility
- Implement and enforce data governance and quality standards, ensuring reliable, consistent data across all sources and tools
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advanced analytics methods, applying relevant innovations to enhance data capabilities
- Promote and establish best practices in data engineering, analytics, and data science to ensure the team’s work maintains a high standard of quality and rigour
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists, data engineers, and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Drive professional development within the team, promoting continuous learning and growth aligned with the latest data tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in engaging with business stakeholders, effectively driving collaboration with minimal guidance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a data science management role
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a data scientist or similar role
- Proven experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (Python, R, etc.)
- Strong SQL and data manipulation skills
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep understanding of B2B Saa S, customers, partners, and the broader B2B ecosystem
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Remote (home) work opportunity or funded by Storyblok co-working space
