This position reports to

Finance Manager

Your role and responsibilities

• Primary contact for the production manager and purchasing manager on financial matters; translating the financial strategy into concrete business plans and performance metrics • Development and implementation of the financial strategy (incl. Performance Management) for production to improve transparency and accountability in operations • Recording and analysis of financial metrics, identifying trends and issues, relaying information to relevant teams, and recommending actions to improve the financial performance of production • Being a strong financial business partner for the production and purchasing manager • Monitoring the planning and forecasting for the production area • Evaluating and tracking of the financial impact of strategic decisions and risk management • Identifying financial issues and advising the production and purchasing manager on action plans and operational strategies to address these issues • Identification, tracking and communication of financial opportunities and risks with persistence and business acumen • Supporting operational decisions through analysis and insights • Ensuring the quality and transparency of financial data and processes through further development of reporting processes and systems • Promoting an appropriate cost structure, optimizing productivity, and capital efficiency, with a particular focus on product/business unit profitability, product costing, production variances, analysis of over/under absorption, inventory analysis, etc. • Implementation and monitoring of internal controls and support during audits

Qualifications for the role

• Completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Controlling, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience (5-10 years) in production controlling
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, financial analysis, performance management, and risk management, particularly in a production environment
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel skills; ideally, experience with BI tools as well
• Analytical skills for interpreting and preparing complex data, as well as presenting results
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders
• Project management experience in production optimization or cost reduction
• Fluent German and English, in written and spoken forms
