That’s the project
CAARE is a European Doctoral Networks project and deals with the characterization and recovery of bionanoparticles for vaccine delivery and gene therapy. Overall, 14 Doctoral Candidates will be trained at seven institutions in five European countries and will be supported by a network of industrial and academic partners.
At acib you will deal with the development of a platform separation method with continuous-flow ultracentrifugation for purification of bionanoparticles. You will define operating parameters for pilot- and manufacturing scale continuous-flow ultracentrifugation using laboratory-scale continuous-flow ultracentrifugation. You will develop a scalable method for separation of empty, full and aberrant bionanoparticles by continuous-flow ultracentrifugation. You will determine the characteristics of bionanoparticles (size, composition, cargo, etc.) obtained by continuous-flow ultracentrifugation with methods developed within the consortium.

That’s important to us
In the best way you have completed a Master’s degree or Diploma for a recognized University in (Bio)Chemical Engineering or Biotechnology or related fields. Research experiences in the following areas would be fine:

• Chemical Engineering
• Biochemical Engineering
• Chromatography
• Bioprocess Engineering
• Downstream processing

• IMPORTANT: The Mobility Rule for European Doctoral Networks applies: researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Austria for more than twelve months in the three years immediately before the start of employment

That’s what you should know

• The annual gross salary is EUR 32.856,32.
• This corresponds to a monthly net amount of EUR 1.774,93 (paid 14 times a year).
• In addition, a Mobility Allowance of EUR 600,00 net per month is due.
• Start: 1st of January 2025
