Position Overview:
NGPS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Science to lead our science department. As the Head of Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the science curriculum, fostering a culture of inquiry and curiosity, and inspiring our students to excel in the field of science. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is committed to educational excellence and passionate about fostering a love for science in our students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the science curriculum, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of dedicated science teachers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific exploration among students and staff.
- Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to integrate science into interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.
- Implement best practices in science education, incorporating hands-on experiments, technology, and real-world applications.
- Organize and oversee science-related extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, and field trips.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in science education and pedagogy.
- Ensure a safe and engaging learning environment in the science labs and classrooms.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- State teaching certification in science education.
- Proven experience in teaching science at the secondary level.
- Previous leadership experience in education, such as department chair or curriculum coordinator.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for science education and a commitment to inspiring students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators, students, and parents.
