Social Media Specialist

Assists with marketing projects, specifically in graphic design; Participates in various stages of developing marketing programs and advertising materials to promote the university; responsible for large projects and will assist with several others; Assist with several key projects, such as the quarterly newsletter, direct mail materials, press releases, marketing posters/paraphernalia, and public outreach efforts/events. Assist with customer service: return inquiry calls, send relevant materials, maintain database of callers for direct mail purposes. Assist with research and application for grant opportunities; participate in meetings with design vendors, media sales contacts, and program committees; Assist with administration, as required.
DUTIES:
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive list of press, media, and community communication mediums; writes, produces, and distributes press kits, feature stories, calendar listings, and other items for all sponsored events.
  • Conducts media relations efforts; establishes and maintains contacts with key media personnel; develops and implements press conferences, photo sessions, and press/media events.
  • Assists in the development of and manages production and delivery of publications, including season brochures, flyers, posters, direct mail promotions, calendars, and other marketing support materials; writes, designs, and produces materials as required.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of a variety of special events and promotional activities.
  • Develops and manages a promotional display and signage program.
  • Assists with sales and market analysis of public relations programs.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Will assist in designs for sister companies.
  • Represent the university at meetings and conduct presentations.
