Duties
Knowledge and hands-on experience in food and beverage operations is a critical part of this job. The Pizza Bowl, as it is called, is a very busy operation that serves a diverse population base of league and casual bowlers, a loyal lunch and dinner crowd that includes a lunch program that serves the school populations located right across the street from the bowling center. EXPERIENCE MANAGING AND OPERATING A DIVERSE SNACK BAR OPERATION WILL BE A CRITICAL COMPONENT IN CONSIDERING A NEW MANAGER DURING THE SELECTION PROCESS.
  • Manages the SHAPE Bowling business activity.
  • Formulates instructions and directives necessary to operate a fluid, profit generating business activity with a fluctuating customer base.
  • Coordinates functions with community, and military representatives.
  • Conducts management review of patron programs to identify problems and initiate appropriate corrective measures.
  • Evaluates the success of programs in terms of profitability, customer satisfaction and mission accomplishment.
  • Reviews financial reports, estimates projected costs, develops activity financial plan.
  • Compares prices, service and environment to comparable restaurants and other food service vendues.
  • Monitors the procurement of all supplies and equipment for the activity.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A probation period of one year may be required.
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successfully complete a health screening. Immunizations required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
  • Ability to obtain (within first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency is required.
  • Incumbent will be required to sign an OGE Form 450 Financial Disclosure form.
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized work experience in managing or directing the activities of a bowling center. Experience that demonstrates progressively responsible administrative, financial, professional, technical work involving knowledge and application of bowling, bowling equipment and facilities, and program activities. Demonstrated experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the NF-03 level.

Experience must include:
  • Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Knowledge of the food industry, including service, preparation, and development, in order to supervise and effective food and beverage program.
  • Ability to effectively deal with subordinates, supervisory and management officials, and patrons.

Pay-Band NF Allowances and Differentials
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
PCS Costs & Foreign Allowances
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.

  • If determined eligible, Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) will be paid in accordance with the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR).
