Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Director will sit on the management team and will have primary leadership and responsibility for all operational finance activities of the company.


Responsibilities



Strategic and management activities :

• Advise on long-term business and financial planning
• Understand the company’s risk matrix and provide mitigation plans
• Provides strategic financial direction to the Leadership team
• Continuous development and improvement of finance related processes and policies
• Hire, develop, motivate and manage performance of the Finance personnel
• Works closely with HR on HC management matters
• Ensure adherence to budget through effective partnership with executive team members

Operations:

• Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgeting
• Securing month, quarter, and year end closing
• Providing consolidated financial information for the internal financial reporting (management reporting)
• Preparing the statutory financial statements
• Develop optimal tax strategies
• Implementing / maintaining internal control framework
• Review and approve all relevant official forms and filings required (Belgium, European and if applicable American regulations)
• Manage outsourced services (accounting and audit and preferably legal)
• Manage periodical company valuations
• Coordinates issuance of stock options accordingly to legal requirements

Profile



Education

• MSc/MA/MBA in accounting, finance or relevant field
• CFA or equivalent qualification

Languages
French and English fluency


Professional Experience

• Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience as Director of Finance or similar role, ideally in the healthcare industry preferably medical technology
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
• Knowledge of Belgium Tax regulation
• Previous Big 4 experience in Audit at manager level
