Job Purpose

Primary role will be to plan and manage the Front-End design stages (Business Analysis Feasibility and Concept) of strategic projects in line with the Project Management Framework.
The objective will be to assure the Front-End proposal for new capital projects are aligned to the strategic intent, endorsed by key stakeholders and meets safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis, feasibility, and conceptual design of new or modifications to existing (bio)pharmaceutical processes of medicines and vaccines to meet technical, budget, and schedule goals in line with the Project Management Framework.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders, Strategy, and manufacturing sites to develop Problem Statements, Key Drivers and Objectives whilst ensuring strategic and business alignment at all stages.
• Lead internal and external resources to create design options, project plans, define budgets, manage risk and build schedules.
• Consult on process designs, equipment selection, procurement methods and quality implications at all stages.
• Support the transition from Front End Engineering to Execution at the end of Concept and provide Guardianship of the Conceptual design to ensure that the design cornerstones are maintained.
• Maintain knowledge of current engineering services and practices to ensure effective engagement and understanding.
• Knowledge of c GMP and market trends in Automation, Sustainability, Validation, and construction to ensure project execution planning in the Front-End remains relevant and continuously improves.
• Ensure EHS corporate standards, local legislation, and other Quality and Regulatory requirements are included in the Front End Design proposals to ensure proper identification and assessment of potential EHS risks that are significant to the business and that can be eliminated or minimized before project implementation.

Other support activities

• Support the development of internal and external project benchmarking.
• Participate to periodic reviews of the GSK standards and guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 10+ years’ experience within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
• Excellent communication skills are critical for the role. Good proficiency in written and oral English is mandatory
• Significant in-depth knowledge of at least some aspects of capex related design or delivery (e.g. HVAC, Building services, Project Management)
