We are a distinguished hospitality group operating in the heart of Ghent, Belgium offering in October this year three exceptional properties: the Ghent Marriott, the Residence Inn and Holiday Inn Express & Suites.
Ghent Marriott stands proudly in the historic city centre, gracing the banks of the Leie River within the medieval harbour. Boasting 150 luxurious bedrooms, 9 versatile meeting and event spaces, a renowned restaurant, and a charming terrace overlooking the canal, it's a beacon of hospitality in the city.
The Residence Inn, Belgium's first of its kind, opened its doors in 2019. Nestled in the southern part of Ghent near the Football Arena and major motorways, it offers 105 modern self-catering apartments, catering perfectly to extended stays with all the comforts of home.
Excitingly, our growth doesn't stop there: Our owners are reopening the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in October 2024 expanding our footprint and solidifying our presence in the local market. We are thrilled to introduce the newest addition to the Holiday Inn Express family. With our grand opening, we extend a warm invitation to experience unparalleled comfort and convenience in one of Belgium's most charming cities. Situated within easy reach of Ghent's bustling city centre, Holiday Inn Express Ghent offers the perfect blend of accessibility and tranquillity. A Day in the Life of…
As Front Office Manager you will be responsible for the following:
Managing front office operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest service from each area, including reception and nights.
Assist in the development and achievement of sales targets by identifying and driving sales leads from in-house guests.
Ensure adequate resource planning and effective recruitment of front office team members ensuring departmental objectives for the team are set and provide continuous employee feedback through appraisal process and job chats.
Ensuring all customer enquiries and requests for bookings are dealt with promptly, courteously and efficiently, achieving the best revenue streams at all times.
Ensure the team is trained and aware of how they deal with and effectively resolve customer complaints as and when they arise.
Maximize sales through up-selling, using incentives and promotions and most importantly drive guest loyalty through the recognized brand recognition program.
Ensure awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety work practices.
Duty Management shifts are an integral part of this role.
Based in the Marriott Ghent, you will be part of a family of passionate people who know that being the best doesn’t always mean working around the clock.
What do we need from you?
To be successful in this role, you will have experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in a branded property. You must have experience supervising reception team members and have excellent communication skills.
You are a problem-solver and have the ability to maintain a positive demeanour under pressure. You can delegate tasks, provide feedback, manage conflict and inspire the team to achieve high standards. Making quick decisions, remaining calm under pressure and finding creative solutions for problems are second nature to you.
