Job description
Join Sofics as a High-Speed Design Engineer and contribute to the cutting edge of technology by developing high-performance IOs and PHYs for our clients’ diverse applications. This role demands a blend of theoretical acumen and practical skills to design and implement sophisticated circuit solutions using the latest semiconductor technologies.Key responsibilities
- Translate protocol standards and client requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Conduct advanced system modeling to explore and validate circuit topologies that meet the technical specifications.
- Implement and optimize high-speed circuit designs using state-of-the-art semiconductor technology nodes.
- Collaborate on electromagnetic modeling of passive components and design circuits that enhance bandwidth for high-speed interfaces.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are aligned with overall project goals.
Job profile
- Master’s or Ph D in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a focus on Analog or RF Integrated Circuit Design.
- Strong background in modern high-speed wireline topologies and building blocks including CDRs, PLLs, CTLEs and Tcoils.
- Proficient understanding of transmission line theory and S-parameters.
- Expertise in using 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic solvers such as EMX, Momentum, HFSS or similar.
- Experience with harmonic balance and S-parameter simulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to work on complex projects under tight deadlines.
- You converse, present and write fluently in English.
- You (are willing to) live within commuting distance of our offices in Belgium.
