Immunology Policy & Public Affairs lead

We are looking for an Immunology Policy & Public Affairs lead who is strategic, adaptable and collaborative to join our team, based in our offices in Brussels, Belgium or Washington D.C, USA.
About the role
You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive policy and engagement strategy to shape policy, legislative, and regulatory environments related to immunology. Youll provide strategic direction underpinned by impactful evidence and data and support Regions/Local affiliates to facilitate the immunology policy priorities at market level.
Elements of this will include policy strategy, engagement planning, coalition building and execution specific to enabling health system change to improve patient outcomes, health equity, patient access and sustainable access solutions in relation to cost-containment measures. The Lead is responsible for establishing UCB as a preferred and trusted partner in the external immunology ecosystem.
Who you’ll work with
You will report to the Head of Policy & Public Affairs and work with stakeholders across the whole development life cycle. You’ll also work closely with affiliates and regional representatives.
What you’ll do
- Deliver environmental analysis and policy insight by monitoring and processing legislative health trends, assesses implications of policies and the broader political environment.
- Define, build & operate the policy strategy to shape public policy, legislative, and regulatory environments related to immunology and UCB’s indications.
- Collaborate with patient access teams, Asset Teams, Asset Payer sub-team, regional Policy, Patient engagement & advocacy and other key internal stakeholders to assess disease-area health system policies which may impact on patient access.
- Cultivate and nurture external stakeholder relationships and partnership opportunities that focus on improving patient access and advancing national/local policies to support programs.
- Foster and support regional & local interconnectivity and a strong UCB Policy & Public Affairs community to drive effective execution at local level.
- Communicate effectively to senior leadership and to broader company, activity up-date, assessed risk, need for action to ensure transparent ways of working and to ensure continuous alignment with other adjacent work streams.
- Effective speaking engagements at political/policy events, panels and congresses.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Prior experience in government affairs/public affairs preferably in-house life science company is necessary.
- Strong understanding of principles of good policy, scientific and commercial communication. and clear messaging to enable ease of understanding by target audiences.
- Strong understanding of global market access challenges for branded medicines.
- Ability to lead cross-functional meetings and projects across matrix and geographies.
