As part of its sustained growth, Gaming1 is looking for a Platform Engineer, with expertise in Infrastructure, to join its IT team.
The System Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our virtualized infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our servers and storage solutions, and driving automation within our environment. The role is critical to building and maintaining our internal Developer Platform, which supports the infrastructure needs of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in VMware, SAN technologies, and infrastructure automation, coupled with a security-first mindset.
In Gaming1, System Engineers are acting as Platform Engineers within the IT Ops Delivery Platform cluster. Enabling technical capabilities for seamless software delivery within GAMING1 in a robust, secure, observable, resilient, and self-service way.
YOUR ROLE

• Manage the capabilities related to Delivery Platform capabilities threating them as Infrastructure-as-Code
• Ensure the security of Delivery Platform capabilities
• Continuous improvement and enhancement of Delivery Platform capabilities

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor or master’s in computer science or equivalent skills acquired through experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar technology environment
• Ability to combine technical expertise with an operational mindset
• Ability to execute work with an infrastructure-as-code only mindset
• Ability to work in a proactive, responsive, and adaptive manner
• Committed to and participating in improving personal and the team’s competencies
• Thrive working as part of a close-knit team, making decisions together that deliver the most valuable experience to the delivery clusters as the main Developer Platform customers
• Know when to work autonomously and when to collaborate to achieve the best outcome
• Knowledge of security standards and procedures related to an operational platform landscape
• Good understanding of Platform Engineering, SRE, and/or Dev Ops practices
• Software coding skills in any language, ideally.NET or Python
• Working experience with one or more of the following:
  • Virtualization technologies, particularly VMware (mandatory) and Nutanix (a plus)
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia C) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Installation and administration of Windows Server and Linux
  • SAN technologies, specifically Net App and HPE Alletra
  • Administration of Cloudflare for DNS management, Web Application Firewall (WAF), anti-DDo S solutions, and content delivery
  • Administration of Fortinet firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Network management, including WAN routing and IPsec
  • Scripting and automation using Bash, Power Shell, or other languages
  • Development and maintenance of internal Developer Platforms
  • Administration of observability and security tools like Data Dog, Prometheus, Open Tracing, Tenable, Zabbix, and Grafana
