We are looking for a MSAT (Associate) Scientist who is analytical, innovative and team player to join us in our Global Biologics MSAT team, based in our Campus in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium.

About the role
As part of the Global Biologics Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MSAT) team, the MSAT Lab USP (Associate) Scientist reports to the Head of MSAT Lab.
He/she is responsible for supporting cell culture lab activities.
The MSAT lab covers both the upstream and downstream aspects of the drug substance manufacturing process and focuses on:

You will work in a direct team of 20 colleagues who share a very collaborative spirit.

What you’ll do

Design and Execute Experiments: Conduct lab experiments and propose innovative technical solutions to achieve project goals.
Documentation: Ensure accurate and complete documentation of experimental protocols, data, and reports, and author/review technical documents.
Cell Culture Support: Provide cell culture support for Technology Transfers, Process Validations, Manufacturing operations, and conduct process optimization studies.
Lab Maintenance: Participate in daily lab upkeep, including equipment calibration, maintenance, and ordering consumables and raw materials.
Support Development: Assist in developing and updating lab policies, SOPs, and Work Instructions, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills.

Cell Culture Expertise: Hands-on experience in cell culture bioprocessing, analytics, and laboratory techniques.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of biopharma operations, c GMP, and experience in technology transfer and process scale-up/scale-down.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect and collaborate effectively across different functions in a matrix organization.
Analytical and Technical Writing Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and very good technical writing skills.
Adaptability and Initiative: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a proactive, innovative, and team-oriented mindset with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
