Med Tech Europe, the European trade association representing the European medical technology industries from diagnosis to cure, is currently recruiting an Officer to join its dynamic Sustainability and Environment team.
Key responsibilities and activities

• Gather, analyse and disseminate EU sustainability and environmental policy intelligence to medical technology companies and national association members, especially in the area of Green Deal implementation, EU Chemicals and Water Policies and sustainable competitiveness
• Assist in analysing EU sustainability and environmental policy developments and in crafting proactive advocacy and outreach programmes
• Develop Med Tech Europe policy communications, such as responses to public consultations, own initiative policy and position papers, advocacy documents, policy updates, summary reports, presentations, briefings or factsheets etc.
• Support managing expert groups in the field and continuously communicate and engage with members, including preparing meetings, drafting minutes, providing issue reports or responding to members’ specific inquiries and information needs
• Contribute to developing Med Tech Europe’s advocacy programme, engagement strategies, outreach activities and own initiative campaigns on sustainability and environment
• Support the day-to-day activities of the sustainability and environment team, such as organising meetings, drafting newsletter content or updating the members’ service areas – extranet, etc.

The Officer reports to the Director Sustainability and Environment and supports Med Tech Europe’s Chemicals Manager in her daily activities. Together with the team, the successful candidate contributes to making innovative healthcare available to more people while helping healthcare systems move towards a sustainable path.
Required qualifications

• University degree in either Health, Healthcare Economics, Environmental Sciences or a closely related field
• First professional experience in EU sustainability policy and public affairs related to the health sector, especially on EU chemicals, resource and water policy initiatives, sustainable finance and competitiveness issues; prior experience in the EU institutions or an EU trade association is an asset
• Excellent understanding of the functioning of the EU and its policy making process
• Fluency in English
• Excellent command of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and proficiency in other IT tools, such as Teams, Zoom, Webex, One Note etc.
• Eligible to work in Belgium
