Lumentum is seeking an Intern (Firmware) to work on the development of optical devices. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and demonstrate an ability to multi-task and to work effectively in a team environment. In this role, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to work as part of a world-class engineering team.

Responsibilities will include;

Introduction to the software development of optical devices, including lasers and amplifiers
Development of C/C++ software using Free RTOS and company software engineering practices for embedded systems
Development of software verification tests for embedded systems
Debug and collaborate with test team
Write technical documentation (software requirements/design)

Skill requirements;

Ongoing degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or related field
Good command on written and spoken English
C/C++ knowledge
Object-oriented programming and design patterns knowledge
Comfortable with team development and versioning tools (GIT)
Flexibility on learning from different areas and multidisciplinary projects

Desirable skills

Free RTOS development knowledge
Prior experiences with software development projects
Basic contact with embedded systems and Free RTOS
If applicable, include github link in the resume
Knowledge of unit tests gmock/gtest
UML for software/technical documentation
