The Project:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global SAP upgrade project for Linde Gas, a leader in the industrial gases and engineering sector. Linde Gas is in the process of migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, and as part of this strategic initiative, they need an additional Senior Functional Consultant in SAP FICO to support their team.
You will work closely with Linde’s large internal project team, providing expertise and support throughout the migration, focusing on the Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This is a long-term project, with a duration from February 2025 to April 2026, where you will contribute to key aspects of the upgrade, ensuring the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA for Linde’s global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and implement SAP FICO solutions in the context of the ECC to S/4HANA migration project.
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to gather requirements and design solutions for Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules, ensuring alignment with Linde’s global business processes.
• Support testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the solution meets business needs.
• Provide expert guidance on the best practices for implementing SAP FICO functionalities within the S/4HANA environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to SAP FICO during the upgrade process.
• Collaborate with other teams (e.g., SAP MM, SD, and technical consultants) to ensure seamless integration across different modules.
• Train and support internal users on SAP FICO functionalities, ensuring the smooth adoption of the new system.
• Document configuration changes and developments to ensure traceability and future system maintenance.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an SAP FICO Functional Consultant, with expertise in Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and familiarity with the differences between SAP ECC and S/4HANA in the FICO area.
• Proven track record of successful SAP implementations, particularly in SAP FICO.
• Experience in large-scale SAP migrations or upgrades, especially transitioning from ECC to S/4HANA.
• Ability to gather and analyze business requirements, design solutions, and manage implementation tasks in a global environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with both technical and business teams.
• Ability to train users and create documentation for end users and technical teams.
• Fluent English (both written and spoken) is required, as you will be working with an international team.

About the role:

• Working hours: 40 hours per week
• Contract type: Independent Contractor
• Project duration: February 2025 to April 2026.
• Primary location: Remote, with occasional travel required for onsite collaboration and meetings in New Jersey - USA.
