The Service Now Application Administrator Role
As an Application Administrator, you will be responsible for daily monitoring of Service Now platform health, triaging of incidents and supporting the organization as a primary contact for business users on anything Service Now related.
What makes this role interesting?
- Monitoring and actioning incident, problem, change request queues as 2nd line support for the business
- Common incident, problem, change request processes, effectively adapt and communicate technical concepts to users of different technical skill level
- Troubleshooting Service Now logging and configuration, e.g. forms, lists, workflows, Java Script, notifications, scheduled jobs, reports, dependencies with third party services
- Performing regular instance maintenance and being responsible for platform patching/upgrades, cloning, keeping service documentation relevant
- Monitoring platform integrations for errors, including MID servers, LDAP users and groups import
- Maintaining and monitoring CMDB, Discovery, relationship health
Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:
- 3 or more years of experience in application administration of Service Now, configuring out of box modules, maintaining related tools and third party services
- 3-5 or more years of experience with user support and general Service Now (or similar service delivery platform) administration
- Strong understanding of Service Now standard modules, table structure, user management, knowledge management, CMDB, Discovery, reporting, service portal
- Participated in one or more Service Now platform or module implementation life-cycles
- Good understanding of update sets and working through tiered deployment process (Dev->QA ->Prod)
- Working knowledge from user/customer support or similar role
We’re looking for a teammate with:
- Good understanding of Active Directory basic concepts like objects, attributes and security policies, including how to interact using Power Shell
- Service Now Certified System Administrator
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification and beyond preferred
- Experience working with Service Now ATF (Automated Testing Framework)
