The Organization:
Small Change Fund acts as a catalyst for individuals and grassroots organizations to improve the environment, reduce poverty, and promote reconciliation efforts across Canada, working with Indigenous Peoples to support the protection of their lands, waters and communities.
We are a capacity support engine and have helped more than 270 organizations across the country, the majority tackling environmental and climate-related issues.
Our award-winning crowdfunding platform is the core of our operations, and we provide our support and expertise in campaigning, government relations, fundraising and communications. We amplify our partners’ impact to achieve success.
We also develop our own projects, from a comedy series and a national transit movement, to a lobby fund and a Greenbelt campaign.
With a diverse, inclusive staff of 30 experts working across Canada in both official languages and several Indigenous ones, we have deep professional and lived experience in our core mission areas.
The Position:
The Communications Manager is responsible for generating compelling stories for our programs and projects, always with a strategic eye.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Manage and orchestrate communications campaigns
· Develop plans and create content for all platforms
· Direct social and legacy media
· Develop the organization’s brand
· Assist with fundraising
· Represent Small Change Fund to many audiences
Required qualifications:
· Proven experience with creating good content and communications planning
· Solid understanding of digital strategy and legacy media
· Skilled in relationship management
· Proven ability to work in a team environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· An eye for detail and design
Compensation:
We offer a full compensation package, consisting of a $70,000 salary, three weeks’ paid vacation (includes a week at year-end), and a modest health and life insurance package.
