About the Digital Marketing Strategist position
We are looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Strategist to join our successful team. The Digital Marketing Strategist assists our brand in the use of web technologies to achieve goals in business growth and customer exposure, identifying needs and new opportunities for brand exposure and ongoing brand awareness initiatives.
In collaboration with the VP, Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing several activities including go-to-market launches, advertising, email campaigns, newsletters, client events, website updates and social media initiatives. You will also build marketing programs and campaigns, collaborate cross-functionally, and report on marketing metrics. You are very resourceful and self-motivated with a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies to be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. As the Digital Marketing Strategist, you will be the one stop marketing shop! Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, you will take the lead on all marketing initiatives within The International Centre. You will be the point of contact for all social media activities & work alongside our website management partners to ensure brand integrity and provide input and recommendations to the leadership team on all digital marketing strategies. To fulfill the artist in you, you will bring to life your creative designs through all sales and marketing collateral. You will have a passion for detail, be comfortable in both the digital and print worlds and have experience with B2B marketing strategies. In addition to providing support to the sales team, this role will work with other departments within the company for all marketing requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
  • Collaborate with leadership team for the strategic planning, budgeting and execution of all marketing and brand related initiatives
  • Work with agency partners to direct integrated media campaigns in support of marketing programs which may include both traditional and digital media
  • Liaise with the VP of Sales & Marketing on the development and implementation of annual marketing plans with regards to branding, advertising, market growth and revenue generation.
  • Liaise with VP of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute annual Sales and Marketing Budget and Sales and Marketing Plans.
  • Work closely with IC Departments to develop and implement marketing strategies including media, promotional and creative development to drive new business and retain existing clients.
  • Work with the Sales and Events team to effectively promote the company at corporate functions and tradeshow to the B2B market segment.
  • As directed by the VP S&M, liaise with internal and external clients such as TIDC, industry associations and vendors, when necessary
  • Liaise with the public relations company by providing direction and developing communication strategies and information programs, as Directed by COO.
  • Identify and oversee the development of newly emerging communication channels including website, mobile and outbound communication (e-Newsletter, email/push marketing, etc.), as well as emerging trends within the meeting/events, entertainment & hospitality industry.
  • Maintaining budget control reports, updated supplier lists, issuing PO’s, project management/scheduling, monitoring inventory levels of print marketing materials, deploy Client Surveys, etc.
  • Other duties as required.
Graphic Design
  • Gatekeeper of branding guidelines, to ensure brand integrity across all marketing initiatives.
  • Develop original designs and artwork for corporate branded materials which include, but are not limited to flyers, brochures, posters, signs/wayfinding graphics, banners, e-newsletters, internal correspondence, Sales Proposals, media kits e-blasts (Mail Chimp service), website page creative, Power Point presentations and other digital and print materials.
Digital Marketing
  • Oversee and coordinate the company’s social media strategy, execution of plan and manage all relevant social media accounts. Keep content up-to-date and produce new digital content to increase traffic based on web analytics and sales and marketing objectives
  • Support client events through complimentary publicity and marketing initiatives via social media
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights; set digital marketing strategies using all necessary tools (e.g. website٫ emails٫ social media and blogs)
  • Review and analyze web traffic metrics & SEO/SEM analytics provided by 3rd party partner, marketing campaigns and report on sales performance metrics, providing feedback and solutions to boost web presence based on these metrics.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of our target audience and proactively suggest new campaigns
  • Update and maintain Sales tools and design content of marketing materials (i.e. F&B Menus; Newsletters, Sustainability Guides, etc....) to reflect current information and ensure brand consistency.
  • Support various departments with creative and graphic content to ensure brand loyalty is maintained and our products and services are professionally marketed to our clients
  • Working in collaboration with the VP of Sales & Marketing, evaluate and identify advertising/marketing opportunities that continue to raise brand awareness and strengthen our position in the marketplace
Job Specifications and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing or related field with a minimum of 3+years of relevant work experience in digital marketing, development and execution of marketing plans for B2B
  • Creativity, flexibility and an ability to manage and reset priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficient in Adobe creative suite, Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator, and Premier with a minimum of 2 years graphic design experience. After Effects an asset.
  • High level of organizational & project management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of website analytics to provide feedback and recommendations to leadership team. Experience with implementation and optimization of Google Ad Words campaigns.
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing.
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and work well within a small team.
