Duties
Reporting to the Yukon Field Unit Superintendent, the Human Resources Manager will oversee human resources (HR) management services, providing expert advice and guidance across various disciplines. You will lead HR operations in the Yukon, managing a team of four professionals and overseeing HR services for approximately 146 employees. Your responsibilities will include handling recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and aligning HR plans with the organization’s goals and workforce needs.You will take a leading role in fostering a workplace culture that emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring that all team members feel welcome and a strong sense of belonging.
Parks Canada collaborates with Indigenous communities to manage national parks and historic sites in the Yukon. These areas hold deep cultural significance for Indigenous peoples, who have longstanding connections with lands, waters, and ice through their heritage and traditional activities. Both Kluane National Park and Reserve, and Vuntut National Park are co-managed with First Nations through modern treaties. As a member of the Parks Canada team in the Yukon, you will play a crucial role in working with Indigenous partners to protect, present, and share these remarkable places.

EDUCATION:Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, certification as a registered Human Resources Professional, or equivalent, acceptable experience in human resources.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience providing HR services in disciplines such as Labour Relations, Classification, Staffing/Resourcing/Recruitment, Learning and Professional Development, HR Planning, Disability Management
- Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to management on human resources issues (e.g., staffing, organizational design, classification, labour relations, training, disability management, occupational health and safety, or other HR disciplines)
- Experience preparing various professional communications, such as memos to staff, briefing notes, presentations, or written reports
- Experience implementing and interpreting human resources acts, regulations, policies, and standards
