Home Campus: Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)
Rate of Pay: Payband 10 ($85,528 - $106,911 per year, plus 4% in lieu of vacation)

Reporting to the Director, Enrolment Management, the incumbent has a critical role in achieving the College’s enrolment plans and leads the planning, developing and continuous enhancement of all admissions functions.
What you’ll be doing:
Performance of the college’s application and evaluation processes, admission selection processes, and all conversion activities related to the achievement of enrolment targets:
- Create and implement an effective, collaborative, data-driven annual conversion plan that will facilitate the achievement of enrolment targets.
- Ensure academic requirements for admission are assessed accurately and are measured against accurate and current Ontario high school course curriculum, inter-provincial education, and other.
- Responsible for the review and/or design of evaluation methods that may be used to assess eligibility to accommodate new types of programs
- Analyzes data from wide range of sources to identify trends or anomalies and provides early identification of opportunities or issues to the Director, Enrolment Management
- On a daily basis, provides oversight ensuring all staff monitor by individual program all incoming, expired, ineligible, withdrawn applications; all outstanding and confirmed offers and alternative offers; all waitlists, payments and registrations to optimize maximization off any and all conversion opportunities.
- Evaluate the ongoing conversion of all programs and make recommendations to the Director, Enrolment Management on strategies to achieve SEM targets
- Contribute and support academic areas with the implementation and successful launch of innovative programs and delivery modalities that offer flexibility and access to pathways to advanced education.
- Develops, analyzes and maintains statistical data/reports for use for management decision-making.
- Responsible for the management of staff providing admission advising services.
- Responsible for the overall quality, accuracy and timeliness of admissions and pre-admissions advisement.
- Oversee and resolve escalated, complex admissions issues/appeals and monitors and maintains reports and appeal records.
- Responsible for the production, accuracy, content, timeliness and presentation of all conversion communication vehicles (Canada Post, email, publications, portals, etc.) related to the application and admission of new applicants.
- Responsible for the quality of all copy materials seen by the public ensuring meticulous accuracy, grammar and structure as befitting a highly regarded post-secondary institution.
- Represents the Director at functions, on committees and in meetings as required, and assists the Director in supporting the College’s Strategic Plan, including the development of the Department’s Operational Plans.
- Serve on external committees, task forces and provincial special interest groups to represent the Director, Committee of Registrars, Liaison and Admissions Officers (CRALO) or Admissions. The incumbent is expected to be an active member with a lead role on the CRALO Admissions Subcommittee.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships, contacts and memberships in professional organizations related to higher education in general and to college admissions in particular.
- Remain current with legislation affecting college admission practices from bodies such as Citizenship and Immigration Canada and MAESD.
- Oversees the recruiting, hiring, termination, training, disciplining, short- and long-term planning of the admissions department; providing leadership, motivating, and building strong teams and for directing staff to appropriate professional development opportunities.
- Responsible for the efficient and effective use of the operating fund allocated for staffing in the Admissions operations, ensuring these are dedicated to core accountabilities.
- Where no internal professional development is available, the incumbent is expected to provide the training or to contract training providers for specific workshops. (e.g., immigration issues, credential issues)
- Evaluate the long-term goals of the Registrar’s Office and create opportunities for staff who display leadership, technical and administrative potential for further advancement within the department or the College.
- Manage the Admissions budget, identify as early as possible anticipated expenditures of a non-recurring nature and to project costs associated with any new initiatives.
- As a member of the Registrar’s management team, participates in strategic planning and development and advises on the impact of policy changes to operational processes as they relate to the Registrar’s Office services.
- Promotes collaboration, cooperation and integration of initiatives impacting areas within the Office of the Registrar.
- Must have a general and broad understanding of the functions within the Office of the Registrar as the incumbent may be called to act on behalf of other Colleagues or the Director in case of an absence
- Review internal operating procedures within their area of responsibility and re-engineer them as necessary to ensure effective service is provided to all clients.
- Participates in the developing of policies and procedures to complement newly developed business processes as well as reviews existing policies and amends where required.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- A relevant 4-year degree or equivalent education and experience preferred, preference given to those with recent admissions, registration and system development and implementation experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Registrarial environment or similar, in a position that includes leadership and decision-making responsibilities.
- A broad educational background that could include studies in the areas of Business, Public Relations, Marketing and Higher Education Administration.
- Knowledge of modern enrolment management practices required.
- Experience working in Banner Ellucian environment is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian and international educational systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Secondary School system, including curriculum and graduation requirements is required.
- Research and policy analysis skills.
- Demonstrated analytic skills and solution-based problem-solving expertise.
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking skills and writing skills.
- Thorough working knowledge of relevant provincial Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) policies.
- Training in the standard methodologies of credential assessment (e.g. the methodologies of NAFSA, AACRAO)
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a multi-tasked environment, under high pressure and with high volume; able to be a proactive initiator and a consultative leader with academic administrators
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
