Member Service Rep

THE BIG PICTURE:
- Create a positive first impression and model exceptional service delivery at every member interaction to foster the member relationship, including resolving member concerns
- Actively promote the Credit Union’s image within the community through participation in community events and volunteerism
- Provide members with a variety of service options related to personal and business financial needs, by promoting the value and benefits, and advising on the best match
- Foster member relationships through service excellence and product knowledge
- Respond to member inquiries and follow up in a timely fashion
- Receive cash and cheques for deposit and verify amounts and examine cheques for endorsement and correctness
- Cash cheques and process withdrawals within assigned limits
- Maintain custody of cash drawer and daily cash holdings and reconcile cash on hand at end of each day
- Maintain joint custody of ATM by verifying deposits and payments
- Balance and process retained cards daily
- Maintain joint custody of night depository by verifying and posting deposits received
- Transaction processing including new account openings, cheque cashing, money orders, term deposit sales and withdrawals, cash handling, balancing, deposits, withdrawals, loan and bill payments, draft purchases, wires, foreign exchange, credit card advances, and other functions normally performed by a Teller
- Process member requests for account updates, balances, cheque orders and statements
- Process outgoing clearings by balancing clearing lists, preparing deposits and journal entries when applicable
- Balance all daily transactions in an efficient manner
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all deposit products, services, and competitors’ offering
- Retail banking experience is great but not necessary; cash handling an asset. Previous DNA experience is an asset.
- Education: Minimum of grade 12 education is required.
- Superior customer service skills and enjoys working with the public.
- Ability to work with confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office.
- Must be bondable and a criminal and credit record check is required.
- This position is in Banff, Alberta.
- This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week.
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:45am to 5:15pm.
- Office setting, extended computer use, sitting, reaching, standing, minimal lifting and walking.
- Moderate mental effort with periods of high-volume workload.
- Attend and successfully complete staff training as required.
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
