Payroll Coordinator
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Edmonds Annex - W3

Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Remote
Annual salary: $ 64,100.00 - 69,200.00
What you'll do

• Responds to payroll inquiries from employees, managers and external agencies/contacts.

• Audits documents and time entry records for compliance with collective agreements, policies or financial institution

requirements to ensure accurate and timely system processing. Assists employees with on-line tools and explains Canada
Revenue Agency requirements regarding various taxable benefits (such as parking, vehicles, gifts and awards, etc.).

• Prepares for approval employee off cycle or termination payments according to legislative, collective agreements and

policies. Explains process to employee, including complex proration of earnings and time banks.

• Calculates overpayment amounts and prepares detailed overpayment letters for employees.

• Provides guidance and assistance (based on organizational past practices) to employees, managers and HR Business

Partners regarding legislation, corporate policies and collective agreement requirements related to time processing and
payroll implications for hires, employee movements and terminations. Responds to external information requests from
Service Canada, financial institutions, Pension Administrator, Benefits provider and other entities regarding employee and
or legislative requirements.

• Calculates employee time/loss from work due to accidents and third-party claims involving external agencies by; obtaining

employee releases; gathering and confirming sick leave data regarding accidents; and obtaining various claim and benefit
information from disability coverage firms and Benefits department to ensure terms of the subrogation and other
agreements have been met to enable recovery of monies owing to BC Hydro. Follows-up to prepare adjusting time entries,
journal entries and deposit cash receipts for recovered sick leave amounts for BC Hydro.

• Prepares and calculates Long Term Disability payments based on organizational policies and data provided by a third

party.

• Recommends process improvements to management for consideration and leads or contributes to implementing process

changes.

• Perform minor duties related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.

What you bring

• Certificate/Diploma in Human Resources, Accounting or Business Administration; plus one (1) year of Human Resources,

Accounting, Customer Service or Business Support experience.

• SAP experience considered an asset.

• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification considered an asset.
